El Morro de Arica, Arica
(4.4/5 based on 950+ reviews on the web)
Admire sweeping views of the city and sea on El Morro de Arica, a centrally located hill. From the top, you can see the city, port, and cliff towering over the rocks and water below. A statue of Jesus stands on the hill, as does a military history museum. Locals tend to visit the place, so this makes a good spot to meet some people from the area. A quick, steep walk from the center will get you there, or you can hire a taxi. Bring your own food and water. • The journey is simple, in the terminal there are cars that take you up there and await you. There are also taxis with which they can negotiate for q give you the same service. If these in Tacna, make go to Arica, is close, you know history, beach and city. There is a small museum and monuments that you can take photos and have fond memories, from there you can see the sea and the city of Arica. On the rise you will find other monuments or crosses, the taxi drivers know and are a kind of guides.

  • To learn about the history of the war of the Pacific, must-see is the Morro de Arica. There is a well-kept Museum. I recommend ask taxi to a trip round and turned. 30 minutes is enough.

  • Very emotional to read the stories of those who fought there. General Lagos, Commander San Martín by Chile and general Bolognesi by Peru.
