Salar de Atacama, Antofagasta

4.6
Savor the sight of a flock of pink flamingos wading through the shallow reflecting pools at Salar de Atacama. Chile's largest salt flats offer striking scenery from all angles, with a ring of imposing volcanos surrounding the salt-rich plateau, where shallow pools form after rainfall. Take a guided tour from San Pedro de Atacama, which will also likely include a visit to the Valley of the Moon. • We were in particular vehicle and we stopped in the middle of the road, without finding anyone over or near inhabited places. Only a vast white blanket that can be seen on both sides of the road, with very little vegetation and much loneliness.

  • Wonderful place to visit. Make sure you can take the warm weather though.
  • Gorgeous park at Laguna Chaxa, with beautiful interpretive center. Visit in the morning.
  • Beautiful place, San pedro PIN. Bring water and sunscreen. It is not very big, so it is fast recoore. Ideal an hour or two before sunset.

  • Very serene place, equipped with varied information for tourists and very extensive grounds, one of the unique attractions of the place still is the lagoon with flamingos, so it is not as impressive as others nearby landscapes...
