Where to stay in Antofagasta

Though not yet seen as an international tourist destination, the northern city of Antofagasta has a welcome number of hotels and other accommodations. Head to the main coastal road to find some of the more popular high-rise hotels, offering rooms with sea views and onsite restaurants. The inland urban areas provide a good set of simple hotels, along with characterful boutiques and backpacker-friendly hostels. If planning on staying in the area for an extended period, consider renting an apartment in one of Antofagasta's main residential neighborhoods.
