Rum Point, Grand Cayman

4.1
#2 of 13 in Beaches in Cayman Islands
Spend the day at Rum Point to enjoy a beautiful beach of soft white sand and clear, calm waters. Enjoy tasty meals and cocktails at the bar and grill, or have a go at a plethora of activities, from jet skiing to kayaking. Consider heading out from the beach to Stingray City, a sandbar frequented by the majestic but potentially painful creatures. Be sure to bring a good amount of money to make the most out of the relatively pricey location. • We prefer Starfish Point just around the corner, but this place has restrooms, bars, shops and facilities so that’s sometimes what you need. It’s a 45 min drive out here from George Town, but worth it to see the quieter side of Cayman. There’s also plenty to do on the way there/back to make a full day out if you visit the crystal caves or the botanic gardens. Good for snorkelling here so bring your stuff and plenty of parking too, or get the ferry across from Camana Bay.
  • This is a great beach area!! A gem away from the crowds and great for family. A hidden secret and the nicest beach I went to while on the island. They have everything you need from a full restaurant and a separate outside bar to a quick bite for lunch with table service. Plenty of tables and chairs with a souvenir shop, full bathrooms and showers all in one spot. Nicely shaded areas with wheel chair access. We stopped at Red sail sports there and booked a Reservation on a glass bottom boat to swim with the sting rays and some snorkeling about an hour and a half tour$55. U.S. Per person. Was well worth the money and was an unforgettable amazing experience. I would say a MUST DO for the price. The staff were very pleasant and they let you feed the sting rays. You can also rent jet skies, kayaks.
  • Beautiful beach. Worth the drive around the island for
  • Beautiful white sand beach giving way to ironstone (fossilized coral). Wear your water-shoes until you're away from the shore. Easy to swim/paddle out to some of the best dive spots in Grand Cayman. Spectacular location avoids the cruise crowd on the other side of the island (~40 minute drive from the airport). Great accommodations next door at The Retreat at Rum Point.
  • Normal, doesn't seem a beach of the Caribbean, many algae, dirty beach with plastics in the sand, not it seemed very nice.
