  • So my wife and I were on our honeymoon cruise and arrived at Grand Cayman one early morning. We didn't book any excursions for that day trip, because we only wanted to relax at the beach for half the time, and then hang out at the brewery for the rest of the time, and then bring back some goodies from the brewery to remember our trip by. The waters were choppy and the current strong, that day, so we ended up not being able to enjoy the beach as much. The restaurant/bar that we were dropped off at luckily had free WiFi, so I was able to look up Cayman Islands Brewery and contact them via messenger to see if they were open already (it was about 10:30AM). Just like their Facebook page says, they responded within minutes; they replied back saying they were open until 5 that day. So I responded back that we would find a way to get there, and they quickly responded again saying they will see us soon. Ended up paying a taxi ride $40 to get there, which I didn't mind because my wife and I were excited that we were able to get to the brewery. When we got there, there were a few others waiting outside, and so we waited as well. After a while the others who were already waiting left, but my wife and I kept ringing the doorbell, but no one was letting us in. I managed to connect to WiFi for a short while and messaged the brewery, but didn't get any response from them. We waited about 30 minutes, and nothing--no response from the door, nor any messages. So needless to say, my wife and I were stranded on the front place of the closed brewery, and we had no means of calling a taxi, so we ended up having to map out the route back to the port and walked the rest of the day back, luckily making it back before we departed. This, of course, ruined our experience that day with Grand Cayman--didn't get a chance to try out their beers, nor were we able to bring anything back from the brewery. I did get a reply back a few hours later stating they were actually closed that day, which I obviously couldn't check since we've already departed and had to wait until we got back to stateside. Thanks Cayman Islands Brewery.
  • The Cayman Islands Brewery makes what I consider the best local beers that I have tried. Caybrew and Ironshore. Not only are they made fresh on island but they give Heinekin quite a run for their money! And they are also the cheaper option. Brewery tours are a must! For $6 you get to sample a wide variety of beer that's guaranteed to get you buzzed. Brewery tours are available every Monday trough to Friday on the hour from 9 am to 4 pm. Private tours can be arrange for bookings over 10 persons in the evening. These informative tours include samples of all the products, and are conducted by knowledgeable members of the brewing staff. Ring ahead for bottling and canning days for the main experience.
  • The people were there were extremely nice. The beer is extremely tasty. Over all a very nice visit.
  • Cool brewery and fun staff. The tour is short, but the tasting is worth it.
