Walk through the grounds of Leo Mol Sculpture Garden and take in the sculptures. The garden holds more than 300 pieces of art by Dr. Leo Mol, including sculptures of ceramic and bronze, paintings, and drawings all placed along a meandering pathway. A jazz band plays in the garden as well periodically. The area often has a large amount of mosquitoes, so be sure to bring some bug repellent with you. Beautiful gardens that are clearly very well maintained highlight a large collection of sculptures. The gallery hall has more to look at and clean washrooms (always a concern in public parks). The schoolroom workshop is a great place to stop and see the history of the man and his art in video, and the process of how the sculptures were made. Glad we stopped here

This Winnipeg treasure always amazes me no matter how many times we return. It was great to visit without last year's throngs of Pokémon players! The sculptures are beautiful. The setting is both artistic and full-on nature at its best. The Little gallery is a nice treat especially if ghee is a sudden rain. The attached English Garden is also a must-see.

Peaceful place of reflection with an evolving garden through the seasons. Bronze statuary by Mol. Find Winnie the Poo over at the Children's Playground. A must see.

A peaceful, large garden. Wonderful to take a stroll through and admire the artwork.

Where to stay in Winnipeg

For easy access to entertainment, look north of Downtown to the hip Exchange District--here you'll find some of the city's most pleasant historical architecture, as well as its most happening bar scene. If you want to mingle with the city's hipsters, stay in the leafy riverfront suburb of Wolseley, where organic markets and "fair trade" cafes abound. If you're just planning to visit Winnipeg for a night or two, you can find a range of accommodations close to the airport.
