CF Polo Park, Winnipeg

(4.4/5 based on 65+ reviews on the web)
Polo Park is a retail and entertainment destination in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It is situated on the former Polo Park Racetrack near the junction of Portage Avenue and St. James Street and is the largest mall out of the eight malls in the city. It is the 12th largest shopping centre in Canada and the largest between Toronto and Edmonton.HistoryThe Polo Park Mall opened on August 20, 1959 and became one of the first enclosed shopping malls in Canada when a roof was added in 1963, the other being the Park Royal Shopping Centre. The district was once the sports hub of Winnipeg, with the Winnipeg Arena, Canad Inns Stadium, and Winnipeg Velodrome all formerly located at Polo Park. The Velodrome was torn down in the 1990s to make way for a strip mall that includes Home Depot and Chapters. The arena and stadium have also since been demolished and replaced by new retail and office complexes. The former CKY building is situated next to the mall. It once housed the city's CTV Television Network affiliate, CKY-TV, as well as CKY radio and FM 92 CITI, and was the original home of the WTN network. Corus Radio Winnipeg has occupied the building since 2011, as part of a lease agreement between Corus Entertainment and Cadillac Fairview. Studios for CJOB 680, CJGV-FM 99.1 and CJKR-FM 97.5 are located on the second floor of the three-story building.

  • As stuck in the city before leaving from the airport, we've visited & shopped at this great mall. You can find all kinds of shops (music, games, a JETS-fanshop, clothes, you-name-it). We will be back.  more »
  • This is a very large mall. Spent 3 hours shopping and still didn't hit up all the stores I wanted to. Has some nicer high end stores but also fun thrifty stores as well. Could have easily spent a whol...  more »
  • It's huge and clean. A nice mix of retail shops. Bathrooms were very clean. Bowling was fun too. After hours entrance was sketchy.  more »

  • It's kind of -the- mall of Winnipeg it's got all the best stores, great choices In the food court (which is actually kinda spaced throughout the mall) and plenty of amenities and services. I would say best of all is its upkeep - I don't really get down there that often, the last time being over two years ago from this time but the mall remains in brand new condition and cleanliness, is relevant and still very popular. With all the excellent places also springing up around Polo park, it's definitely a must-visit of the city.
  • Lots of shopping options. I really just go to polo to shop at Teavana and visit the great staff. Trish is absolutely amazing and really know her teas. I was able to explain my stomach issues to her and she was able to teach me about what teas would work with me. Couldn't be happier! Britney and Tien are also great to deal with and really brighten the day.
  • It get pretty crowded at time but the stores sell some great stuff. The food court has a great selection of restaurants. The food court's bathrooms are big and usually clean.
  • Probably the most decent shopping mall you can find in Winnipeg, it has a food court and various brands available. Highlight for me is the Apple Store. Huge parking space with covered areas by the east side of the mall. Other stores within close proximity to the mall are Best Buy, Canadian Tire and a cinema.
  • Love being a part of the CF Polo Park community. Always something new arriving. Great layout and atmosphere, as it's bright and open thanks to so many skylights. Good food options, but after 5+ years working there, some more new options would be awesome.
