Geologic Formation
Visit the area around the Yukon River and take in the volcanic rock flows at Miles Canyon. The river cuts through the rock at the canyon, giving the best view of volcanic basalts of the area. The canyon offers many biking and hiking trails, which take you along the river and through some picturesque landscapes. Along the paths you'll find some informative signs explaining the geology and history of the area. Be careful walking along the river at night, as there are no guardrails.
