A picturesque place, lots of shops and restaurants for all taste . We loved that it was for walking only, no cars allowed. The restaurants had nice open patios, where you could really enjoy the dinner...  more »

It should be remembered that Whistler is an Olympic city, so apart from very nice, it has a great infrastructure in all directions; Hotels, services, restaurants, among others.

It's a playground for families, the kids seem to love it and the adults too. It looks to be busy all year round, summer & winter because the town offers entertainment and they make it inviting. In the winter they will set up a fire, and it is well lit up. Lots of different shops and eateries to choose from in that area.

The Whistler Olympic Plaza is a great spot in Whistler. It often hosts a variety of live entertainment and in Winter it becomes a sled run. It is surrounded by coffee shops, eateries, and some grocery and dry goods. it also has a large playground. Parking is from the nearby street or you can park in the day lots about 7 to 8 minutes walk away.

The Olympic plaza is beautiful. There is the olympic rings on display that is worth having a photo taken. The view of the mountain is magnificent. There is a good size playground for kids and toodlers to enjoy. There are restaurants, ice cream shops, shopping and very close to IGA if you want to do some grocery shopping for your chalet. I love this place!

Where to stay in Whistler

Whistler caters to guests with a wide selection of accommodations, although budget travelers might struggle to find more affordable options. If you visit Whistler during the ski season, stay in the southern section of town, closest to the main ski lifts. You can also beat the crowds of the town proper and stay farther south in Whistler Creek, where the shores of Alta Lake meet the Creekside gondola. It's worth booking early no matter what time of year you visit, as the town can get incredibly busy even during summer.
