Zig-zag down the shimmering, pristine slopes of Whistler Blackcomb, a leading ski resort. Situated along two ridge lines, the mountain peaks are connected by a record-holding cable car, “Peak 2 Peak”, the longest and highest unsupported cable car span in the world. Forming one of the largest ski resorts in North America, both peaks offer a range of slopes to cater to all abilities, and an extensive lift capacity to get you around the two mountains. • We took the gondola up the mountain just to take a look. Then the scary (exhilarating too) "peak to peak" gondola too. It would of course be unreal in winter for the skiing but we enjoyed it just for ...  more »

  • Whether this your scene or you want to go for a day trip it is a beautiful place to visit. We went in Autumn so the gondola was closed but the trees were beautiful colours. The area is very scenic wit...  more »

  • There's no doubt about the scale of Whistler Blackcomb's awesomeness. This place sets the bar for world class skiing. For first timers to these slopes note that their grading system might be a little more severe than other places you've been. Start on green even if you're proficient on blue every where else.
  • One of the Top Ski Resorts in the World and well deserved. Fantastic ski location with fabulous snow. Excellent village facilities and well planned services throughout the area. Fast ski-lifts with limited queues. Free buses running around the resort for easy access to town / accommodation. Thoroughly recommended.
  • It was my first time staying here during summer time. I have been here once before for a snowboarding trip. I must say that staying here in the summer is so much fun. There are countless of activities to do. We did the helicopter tour, peak2peak, zipline, treeptop trekking, hiking, etc. The villages offers great restaurant selections, shopping, entertainment and other activities. This place is literally a big playground. If you love being active and the outdoors as much as I do then this place is for you to discover and enjoy. If I can come back here twice a year, every year, one in the summer and in winter I totally would!
  • Great ski resort, no doubts, on or off tracks. Unfortunately the persons responsible do not care about costumers comfort. The chair lifts are pretty old, how many have bubbles?! They should have a visit in Austria to see how it could be done. A lot of chair lifts there have also seat heating..... But why should they change, people are coming anyway. Besides that, the rest is very good. Excellent restaurants and other things to do around.
  • Excellent skiing - plenty of powder and variety of runs on and off piste. Fast access to lifts and short queues, which move quickly. Good facilities in the village and on the mountain.

Where to stay in Whistler

Whistler caters to guests with a wide selection of accommodations, although budget travelers might struggle to find more affordable options. If you visit Whistler during the ski season, stay in the southern section of town, closest to the main ski lifts. You can also beat the crowds of the town proper and stay farther south in Whistler Creek, where the shores of Alta Lake meet the Creekside gondola. It's worth booking early no matter what time of year you visit, as the town can get incredibly busy even during summer.
