#1 of 206 in Winter Sports in Canada
Zig-zag down the shimmering, pristine slopes of Whistler Blackcomb, a leading ski resort. Situated along two ridge lines, the mountain peaks are connected by a record-holding cable car, “Peak 2 Peak”, the longest and highest unsupported cable car span in the world. Forming one of the largest ski resorts in North America, both peaks offer a range of slopes to cater to all abilities, and an extensive lift capacity to get you around the two mountains. When you need to rest your ski legs, head to one of the many on-slope dining locations, serving up tasty local cuisine, with breathtaking glacial views. • Love leaving the city and heading up to the Whistler-Blackcomb area. As I'm not a skier, I prefer the summer to visit. Love walking around the village, smelling the fresh air, taking in the activities, shopping and eating! It's great in the winter as well as it takes on a different feel. It's nice walking and playing in the snow and then moving indoors for some hot food and warming spirits!
  • What can I say? As world class as it gets. Great hotels, restaurants and shops. AMAZING mountains with super fast lifts, not to mention the Peak to Peak. Loved every minute here. So many amazing trails and runs. This is one of my favourite places in the world to snowboard. We also did some amazing back country snowmobiling. Epic.
  • What can I say? Incredibly commercial place. Almost like Disney. Not a place you can connect with nature without going through a middleman. Many beautiful places to visit in Canada unfortunately this would only make the list if you are into skiing or shopping in glorified malls. Every trail or road up the mountain is blocked off to the general public. You need to buy tickets to a Gondola, Ski lift or purchase a tour (jeeps) to access the mountain.
  • This is the last time coming to this resort. There are operational issues. They promoted Thanks Giving break and we came. None of the restaurants are open at the mountain but only one. Vacation turned into a stressful table hunting and line waiting burden. Ski rental shops are also operated by Vail, we had to wait 40 minutes to get our skis as the guys working there do not have an idea of what they are doing. No blizzard or anything but only 20% of lifts open and long lines. 2 years ago, this place was great. I am not coming again to a resort looking to save cents from my vacation time
  • I was fortunate enough to be at Whistler Blackcomb during an epic snowfall! The staff the mountain and the snow were amazing! T is very popular it can be less crowded than Whistler. Make sure to have at pint at the. Crowbar.
