Lost Lake, Whistler

4.5
#2 of 26 in Parks in Whistler
Get some fresh air and take the easygoing hike along paved and gravel trails to Lost Lake, a pristine lake set in dense evergreen forest. If you visit between June and September you’ll find an area for swimming, as well as plenty of barbecue spots surrounding the lake. Consider bringing a picnic and sitting on the green grass beside the water to eat. During the winter months, the lake exudes an altogether different beauty, as the paths transform into cross-country skiing trails. You can't bring dogs to the lake, but you can take them to a dog-friendly area nearby. Use our Whistler driving holiday planner to add Lost Lake and other attractions to your Whistler vacation plans.

  • We made the Village Trail loop and finish at Lost Lake. Delicious place. Has a few places to enjoy the Sun and spring you can dive into the Lake, if you dare because the water is freezing, even in spring. Super recommend

  • If you are an avowed hiker this should be considered a warm up as it is only a 6 kilometre hike. Perhaps better suited after a more strenuous hike to cool down in the lake.  more »
  • Today, I took a stunning walk from whistler village to the lost lake. The weather was stunning and beautiful. There is parking near by and the toilets are very clean too. I walked around the trail loo...  more »

  • Pretty disappointing experience here. We hoped to do some snowshoeing after being recommended to go here with our puppy by several people in town. After buying our tickets (which inherently felt wrong to pay to walk in nature), we were told we couldn't go with our puppy. We tried to get more information on a why, but weren't offered an explanation by the volunteers "guarding" the entrance to the trail or the gentleman who sold us our tickets (with our puppy in full view 6 feet from his ticket window). The most infuriating part of the situation was that we saw a dog exiting the trail off leash while we were trying to ask for an explanation. I'm not sure if this was a situation of breed discrimination, or simple ignorance (which are one in the same), but it absolutely puts off the idea of Whistler for me in the future. I guess I'll spend my tourist dollars in a city more accepting.
  • The lake is very beautiful and amazing. It’s a secret place for tourists.
  • A great hideout for tanning or swimming. As for cycling or hiking, it offers quite a few routes for cyclists to venture, and loop trails for hikers to stroll around.
  • Snow shoeing on a beautiful winter day. Marvelous.
  • It is a very nice lake with nice trails for bicycles, lots of friendly dogs on leach too
