#5 of 9 in Nature in Whistler
Round out your visit to Whistler by seeing Alexander Falls, one of the city's most picturesque cascades. Three escarpments make up the falls, reaching an impressive total of 43 m (141 ft) high and 12 m (40 ft) wide. Don your snowshoes or hiking boots for the 30-minute trail leading to the picturesque lookout point. If you have time constraints or are less inclined to walk, drive to the parking lot conveniently close to the top of the waterfall. Was going to the Olymplc park but it was closed! Saw the sign for the fall and went to take a look. Just lovely and the fact you don't have to walk to them is a bonus for the less able. If you have a ...  more »

There are many waterfalls in Canada and this is one of those many, but none is ugly and all have beautiful surroundings. If you are going, for all... are a beauty.

Easiest falls to get to ever. The falls are just off the road and you park right next to the observation deck. As an addition you are likely to see black bears along the side of the road going back to route 99.

A bit off the road on the way to Whistler, Alexander Fall is definitely worth a visit, even if you have to trek through a few feet of snow to visit. It's absolutely beautiful but don't expect the trail to be plowed or the outhouses to be visible. It was absolutely stunning in the winter and wasn't frozen despite the freezing temperatures. I would definitely return in warmer weather!

A beautiful waterfall with easy access. There's a parking lot with two outhouses and a viewing platform.

Where to stay in Whistler

Whistler caters to guests with a wide selection of accommodations, although budget travelers might struggle to find more affordable options. If you visit Whistler during the ski season, stay in the southern section of town, closest to the main ski lifts. You can also beat the crowds of the town proper and stay farther south in Whistler Creek, where the shores of Alta Lake meet the Creekside gondola. It's worth booking early no matter what time of year you visit, as the town can get incredibly busy even during summer.
