  • In the salmon season this is definitely a highlight of the park. The ride there is, however, a stretch of road which is not paved.

  • We were at the 27.09.2015 at the rapids at Bailey's chute. Here, (August/September)-jumping salmon can be observed during the salmon migration. Often, jump fish on a slab of rock and slide back. You need to make exactly atop a narrow waterfall in the rapids. If they did that, they move further upstream and spawn in the area around Norman's Eddy. The salmon die shortly after spawning. in 1986 we had seen here jumping salmon, this time they were apparently already passed. On the side of the road to the Rapids, there to discover nature. End of September also many mushrooms are an interesting (macro) photo opportunity in addition to the autumn foliage. The short path from the parking lot is well accessible.
