This wasn't what we expected but it was OK. The canyon is not all that spectacular but the track provides some good views of the mountains in the background.  more »

Cool and short hike. It was great fun climbing down the beautiful red rocks to touch the water. Gets busy as it has been newly renovated with new wood flooring/stairs also it is a fairly easy hike perfect for families.

The canyon is nice to drive. The red rock at the end is beautiful. Take the hike to Blakiston falls. It's a short hike with a spectacular view of the falls at the end.

Where to stay in Waterton Lakes National Park

You can't stay in the heart of Waterton Lakes National Park, so your best bet is to base yourself in the township of Waterton and head on day trips from there. This can be difficult if you're on a budget, as the majority of accommodations in Waterton are resorts, hotels, and suites catering to a luxury-seeking clientele. If you're prepared to battle it out against nature, you can make your trip more affordable by pitching a tent at a local campsite. Make your reservations well in advance if visiting between May and September.
