Found between the mountain peaks of the Akamina Ridge, Cameron Lake represents a sub-alpine lake that is one of many bodies of water that makes up the surrounding national park. Take in the views along the 16 km (10 mi) highway to reach the lake at 1,646 m (5,400 ft) above sea level. Breathe in the fresh, crisp air as you take in the mountainous scenery. Picnic along the shore, or venture out onto the water in a rented paddleboat or kayak. Various hiking trails are available for all levels of fitness. You may even spot a grizzly bear on the far slopes of the lake.   • From downtown by car 30 minutes, at the end of the akaminaparkway. Beautiful quiet lake. You can also take a boat ride.
