  • Beautiful touring bike (14-16 km) around Clear Lake. We saw a well of hope ("wishing well") where we could drop some money... and a garden all around. We sat a moment on 'chairs red' of Parks Canada to rest and I saw a "comic" tree on the road... We went to the Visitor Center in the evening, because we wanted to beg a lift to see the bison. Could not go with our big camper, because there was about a 30-minute road of gravel and it advised against us. A couple of our age of London, Ontario has agreed that we went up in their truck to go with them. It was really good. We followed three guides (two Indians working for Parks Canada) who were commenting on the radio. We saw bison! We heard of native American peoples, their culture, we saw how to set up a tipi and what they do with the Buffalo when they kill them... Nothing is lost! The rapprochement between the 'white' and native Americans is really a priority of Parks Canada in this corner. They put in place of beautiful education programs. Really well done and interesting. They make the place native guides who speak for themselves of their culture, of their ancestral knowledge... of their version of the story, in her beautiful and less beautiful sides. The school taught us a version so different and stereotypical of the history of native Americans. In their way of telling, we feel no anger, but rather a real desire to share their culture and rapprochement between the two cultures... Full of hope in my opinion! We even saw a baby bear who ate in the bushes not far from us... Great night at the sunset. Really nice day in this beautiful park!

  • My favorite place to go in the summer. Plenty of stores and activities. Great for families. The march and hiking trails are a great way to get close with nature. There are bears there, tho, so watch the signs and make sure u read the pamphlets. Inside the town, there's tennis, a large checkers board, a playground, golfing, boat rentals, plenty of ice cream stores, etc. Don't forget to book ahead tho.
  • Wonderful place. Great townsite, abundance of trails for walking, biking, or skiing. One of our favourite places.
  • The beach is not the best but the lake is big enough for boats, jet ski, other water sports. there is also a large park with a bison enclosure. it is amazing there with a lot of wildlife and activities as well as a beautiful historic town with some of the first trade posts in manitoba
  • We typical stop at Clear Lake, but the entire park is real nice. The town is nice but there are also some good mountain bike and hiking trails in the area.
  • I don't know why I took so long to discover this place, I know it's many hours from Winnipeg but I will definitely be making an effort and booking longer holidays to take advantage of the wilderness in this area. My kids had a wonderful time, we can't wait to go back
