  • Played Oct. 8th 2016. Took a chance with the weather and the course. Last time there in early summer the course was in poor condition. Tee areas worn and hard, fairways were hard and bare in a lot of ...  read more »
  • Worst experiences we have ever had. No originiization, they had a tournament that was so far behind you had to wait for the players sitting in their carts in the parkingessional lot drinking to come i...  read more »
  • $60 plus with cart. Should not be over $30. It is a beach course, so no expectations. Don't bother with the dirt traps, some gimmicky holes, flat and not very fun to play. Go somewhere else.
  • A course that has now been improved so much in 2015 to 2016, under new ownership that anyone who has played there before needs to come and take a look. The new greens keeper is doing a great job from tee to green. Traps need more sand but that will come. The transformation of the bar and dining area is so good that we have moved our 50th wedding anniversary there this September. Better than average course..friendly and efficient staff...brand new dining area...spacious patio with gorgeous view over the lake. What's not to like???
  • As described, we were completely soaked by the sprinklers while putting on the tenth green. Wallets, clubs, phones all the usual things that most people bring with them these days in 2016. When it was brought to the owner, Sandy's attention we were met with "it's golf etiquette to not have your phone on the course." Can I suggest to you, Sandy that should a medical emergency occur on your course, your property, that is not equipped with a defibrillator, that you may want someone with a phone that can call for assistance. Just a thought. After explaining the sentimental value of my phone in photos of my children and precious moments, she handed me a bag of rice. "This should do the trick" Well Sandy I hope this review does "The Trick"
  • sprinkles came on while we were on the tenth hole. Golf carts soaked along with wallets and a phone. We went back to the club house and were told by sandy basically "oh well, sprinklers come on randomly and why would you have your phone on the course". No sorry or apology, very bad customer service. Poor. Won't be recommending this course to anyone.!!!
  • Played this course several times. Disappointed for my recent play. The bunkers are still hard like cement. Broke a club on one. Lost a couple of balls on the edges too. The grass was too tall to find them. Greens are not in good shape. Way too slow and too much pockets of thatch on the edges. signs are usless. Couldn't get the tee time I wanted because local grouchy members and leagues evidently have first priority. Seems to have lost it's enchating charm. The prices are expensive. I guess the cost of those renovations are being passed on to the day golfers, like me? btw, I got grossed out when I saw a food handler go in and out without washing his hands. Does the town inspect resturants like Toronto does? If not, it should. I had to cancel my food order. Overall I would not recommend it as is. btw, don't like the new colour of the club house. Too dark in my view. good for funerals and weddings I guess, in my opinion. Overall , guess they have room to improve on my next visit. see you soon.
  • The Course was a little rough when the Smardenka family initially took ownership because of the previous owners' neglect. However this course is quickly turning around in the right direction. A world class superintendent has been hired and he is working hard. He comes from Oslerbrook GC - anyone who has played there knows how good the condition of that course is. Marlwood also has new world class John Deere cutting and maintenance equipment - the owner's have a passion for golf and have played at the best golf courses in the world - they appreciate a great course and respect the game. The clubhouse was just completely renovated and will also be a culinary hot spot. 2016 will be a promising year - Top notch greens, rolling fairways, excellent bunkers, and a team who knows how to make they best of what they have got.
