  • A short distance outside of Victoria, there are a few interesting spots within the area. On my way over, I spotted a brown rabbit, before heading up the mountainside shortly after reaching the park.  more »
  • This is a fantastic hike for one or for many. You can do one or both lakes. I do this walk at least 4 times a week for my workout.  more »
  • We were there last week, and the walk around the lake is gorgeous. Slightly hilly paths, well constructed, make the walk easy. There are many viewpoints to take in different perspectives of the lake. ...  more »

  • The park is beautiful, with swimming and kayaking/canoeing locations, significant hiking or jogging trails, and places to simply lay in the sun. Don't expect to find many open level fields for throwing frisbees. Thetis Lake is surrounded by very gentle hilly and rocky terrain that surrounds the lake itself, with significant tree coverage. Great place to visit if you want a walk through nature along a gentle trail, or lay on a smaller beach during summer.
  • Dog friendly Park with plenty of hiking and walking trails. Swimming on the main beach or elsewhere along the trails with washrooms and changerooms located at the main beach. There's also a dedicated dog Beach for dog swimming, away from the main public swimming Beach. It is pay parking here - lots of room but it does get busy in the summer.
  • Beautiful park for an easy hike or run around. Water is lovely to swim in. Often very busy on nice days. Lots of off leash dogs. Upper area of park a bit quieter.
  • Another great park for the Victoria region - nice lakes, kms of easy walking trails, a dog-friendly beach and a beach reserved for humans during the summer. And a bike trail leading right to it from downtown. It's great to be able to choose between the ocean and a lake.
  • Great for an easy walk in the woods with lots of places to have a quiet picnic and a few descent spots for trout fishing and great for kayaking or exploring around in a raft. (electric motors only) However, the parking lot at the far end is a dog park and unfortunately most people think saying over and over "bad dog!" fixes the fact that they are horrible pet owners and can't control their dogs, who run around stepping over everything and everybody.
