This campus is circular and well maintained. The Bookstore has many neat keepsakes or clothing items to purchase. The trails are easy to walk on surrounding paths.  more »

This is a great place for a stroll, however you need to take transit or your vehicle. Few nice gardens with a park like setting, it is also a well known university throughout the country.  more »

Great venue for the competitors. Wished there had been some sort of 'services' during the 4.5 hours for attendees, judges and competitors. Nice campus and grounds.  more »

Administration cut essential programs and services (w/ less than a month's notice in the case of its child care program), and shows very little promise or interest in listening to or investing in students or faculty. Institutional bureaucracy at its worst.

Very beautiful campus especially in Spring and Summer time, lots of wild hares all year around in the campus, occasionally you may spot a deer. The best University in Vancouver Island.

Overall, my experience at Uvic was exceptional. I went through all of the coursework with virtually the same cohort, which helped to develop a high level of camaraderie and teamwork. I was able to solely focus on my studies, knowing that my schedule was being managed effectively by the front office staff. The instructors were current leaders in their respective fields and were passionate about what they were teaching. The only area in which I took issue with, was transferable credits. I arrived at Uvic with an AA degree from Okanagan college, but still had to take a couple of the classes that someone entering from another Post-Secondary Institution might not have had to. In other words, even though Uvic accepted my transcripts, they really didn't amount to what I expected in regards to being a full transfer student, or negate the need to take particular courses. This may have been a misunderstanding on my part. However, I did find value in all of the classes that I took. Although I didn't stick to a career in business, I have had a successful tenure in public education, and credit Uvic for accelerating that career.

Beautiful campus to visit - the campus is almost inside a forest and is lovely to walk through.

I've had a great experience while I was at UVic, and got a job before I even graduated, as did many of my friends and peers.

Where to stay in Victoria

The curling waterfront Wharf Street, which becomes Store Street, offers the best selection of lodgings in the city center, although you can expect to pay extra for the trademark views. Many travelers opt to stay in the neighborhood of James Bay, where Belleville Street and surrounds provide comfortable and even luxurious options. For something more relaxed and closer to nature, look south to the expansive Beacon Hill Park.
