  • There were very interesting exhibits in this museum. It is very unfortunate that they have to use this museum to push social agendas and there was so much about the LGBT. There were many famous Christ...  more »

  • We visited Royal BC Museum today. It's a good one! We spent 2 hours and we were in hurry because we started pretty late. So, if you want to see it in comfort pace I suggest at least 2 hours. Exhibitions are very well done, smoothly changing from one to another. My husband loved dioramas, I'm a huge fan of vintage things! This museum has big beginning of XX century part of town build inside. Staff was very helpful and supernice too! I feel like everyone can find something interesting for himself in this museum. In my opinion, fair price!
  • Very cool! Much bigger than we expected. Could have easily spent all day here. We were on a schedule and feel like we had to rush at the end and didn't see everything. Will go again the next time we are in the area.
  • very cool! the nature scenes were realistic, neat aquarium exhibits, full sized wolly mammoth and sea lion. natural history education... how do climate change deniers explain the ice age? there's more there that I didn't see.
  • It's wonderful place. We can see animals and people like a real. We can understand a real Canadian history as well. Very impressed. Aboriginal and Terry Fox etc.
  • There are so many exhibits to see here you must stay for the day when you get the chance, the food is good, coffee great, and the muffins are wow! If you are feeling like splurging~stay for an IMAX movie--it's a new seating area so it's super clean and cozy, you gotta check it out! Seriously.

Where to stay in Victoria

The curling waterfront Wharf Street, which becomes Store Street, offers the best selection of lodgings in the city center, although you can expect to pay extra for the trademark views. Many travelers opt to stay in the neighborhood of James Bay, where Belleville Street and surrounds provide comfortable and even luxurious options. For something more relaxed and closer to nature, look south to the expansive Beacon Hill Park.
