  • Awesome museum with great themes and historic artifacts. The exposition and Imax about Egipt was the highlight. Worth the visit and the price.  more »
  • Great and cool Museum with many exhibits and lovingly built up "scenes" from the history of British Columbia. You will find all kinds of interesting information about wildlife, nature, but also the "human history". Definitely you should bring 2-3 hours or more if you want to look at everything in peace. The part about the recent past has us particularly well liked, very well prepared and really interesting. The Museum can man warmly recommend for children certainly interesting.

  • This is not the usual boring stuff, a real treat to behold, and quite different. I highly recommend visiting.  more »

  • I love this museum. High quality exhibits and displays. Be prepared to spend a few hours here or more wandering the 3 floors and 2 outer buildings. Right in the beautiful down town Victoria core. Well worth a visit. Bring your student ID for a discount if you have one.
  • Very expansive exhibits and tons of stuff to look and ponder over. My visit was during Our Living Languages- First Peoples' Voices in BC (very informative) and Wildlife Photographer of the Year (stunning photos) exhibitions. If you are the type who loves to take your time exploring and reading, I would suggest buying a two-day pass or at least arriving early in the morning. Also, you can take photos in most places as long as it's not flash-photography. Overall, a great place to visit for kids and adults.
  • Amazing, thought-provoking exhibits. The First Nations exhibit was intense - the admission is more than worth it just for this exhibit. It had such an impact on me. I also really enjoyed the current Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibit - even the sad photos were necessary. I wasn’t too enthralled by the history of British Columbia becoming British Columbia - too much ecological degradation and racism in that time. But they made the exhibits very interactive, which I appreciated.
  • A must-see for tourists and residents alike! I especially enjoyed the section of the museum dedicated to the First Nation cultures. Lots of cool artifacts that gave insight as to what life was like hundreds of years ago. The exhibit I found the most fascinating was an interactive display of BC that mapped the different language family trees. You could press buttons on the map and hear recordings of greetings spoken by various native groups. For those interested in natural history, the museum also has plenty of beautiful specimens on display.
  • Very interesting and comfortable. There are a couple of domes where you can play with sound effects and be like in the nature with real size animals. For adults there are lots of things to learn about. I like it but it was too much for a 3 year old kid. I am sure it gets more interesting for kids after 6 years old.
