Ogden Point Terminal & Breakwater, Victoria
(4.5/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
Stroll along Ogden Point Terminal & Breakwater, the narrow, 850 m (half-mile) walkway that juts out into the ocean from Ogden Point. Built in 1916, the walkway was used to protect the piers, and as of 2013 the long, concrete stretch has railings, making it suitable for everyone to enjoy. You can learn about the history of the breakwater from the exhibit on shore, while also discovering interesting facts about the wildlife in the area. Walking on the breakwater, you can observe numerous ships and ferries coming into the harbor, spot seals, jellyfish, and seagulls, and admire the lighthouse at the very end of the walkway. Put Ogden Point Terminal & Breakwater and other Victoria attractions into our Victoria family vacation planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • It was very cold and I was just going to take a look but I walked the brisk walk to the lighthouse about a 15 minute walk, well worth it. Gorgeous.
  • I never miss a stroll out onto the breakwater when I visit Victoria. In any weather it it well worth it to find a little sea spa time!
  • It felt we were at the Pacific Ocean. We saw sea lions and sea otter. It was a good walk and great for pictures
