Love the fact that in Victoria every street is different and fort st is no exception. Lovely shops and old houses all restored and thriving -so good to see.

My experience with this shop is certainly different from the first post. My wife's cannondale quick came up with a crack on the down tube. In spite of the bikes age (3 years) they agreed that it was a manufactures defect and have sent to Cannondale for a replacement. Excellent maintenance and staff. Great shop.
Used to be a great bike store before the original owner sold the business to foreign investors. Now most of the great staff has left and the selection of products has also diminished. It's a shame.
I bought my first serious road bike at Fort Street Cycle and I had a terrible experience with the owner and the mechanical staff. The carbon frame they sold me was cracked from the point of sale and when I tried to show them the crack, once it had been discovered by another shop, the front of house staff tried everything they could to not look at it. Then they charged me for a replacement warranty frame which I disputed heavily because of the amount I had spent already on what was supposed to be a new bike. They then replaced the original frame with another in house frame. A couple weeks later I had a near fatal chain slip off the big ring during a group ride. All the muscles in my upper and lower back muscles were torn in the incident. Immediately after the incident a different bike shop discovered that a front derailleur rivet hole in the frame had been damaged. Again, I brought the bike back for a warranty replacement from Cervelo for which they charged me again with less dispute from me this time because I was so exhausted from the first one. This second warranty frame came from Toronto and has been perfect ever since and I have put over 12,000 km on it without a problem as you would expect from a Cervelo frame. Very dodgy owner (Doug) and mechanical staff for putting me on two broken frames with regular tune-ups being done by the staff. I could have been severely injured or possibly even died with the kit they sent me out the door with. I highly recommend you look else where for your bicycle needs because this shop is not even close to looking out for there customers. I have several friends who work there in sales and I will still not think of going back for a purchase.
Best service; friendly and knowledgable staff. Female and family friendly shop.
great brands and amazing service. before you've even picked a bike, they do a thorough fitting, so you're not sold something that won't feel right. nothing but great things to say about these folks!
