Third Beach, Vancouver

4.4
#6 of 8 in Beaches in Vancouver
Get away from the crowds at Third Beach, an expansive and tranquil stretch of coastline. Taking a long walk or simply relax on one of the many logs scattered along the sand. While an adjacent beach offers a livelier, family-friendly hangout, this one remains secluded, frequented mostly by picnicking locals. Bring a barbecue and sit back to enjoy the waves and gentle sea breeze. The abundant trees surrounding the beach enhance the sense of remoteness, blocking noise from the thoroughfare overhead. Rent a bike from a nearby shop and cycle along the seawall; bring bike lights if you plan to stay on after dark. • This is one of the best beach in vancouver. Clean and awesome view. All beaches are connected in sequence and this one we liked the most. It also had the cycling area and surfing area.  more »
  • The landscape looks much the same and go 2 places and suffer. Is Stanley Park and across the road was crowded, but still is up for sale. You can also enjoy the Woods Road. 9 / 18:00 long, dimly lit inside was pretty walking tourists. Do not walk at night so I don't know.

  • Awesome beach. Took my 3 year old boy back in July on a sunny day. Had a blast. If you get creeped by floating algae beware. Also pay attention to floating wood.
  • A nice quiet beach in the off-season, it becomes a zoo in the summer. It's nice that it's off the seawall, but no free parking nearby, and heavily policed for drinks.
  • Nice beach with good sand but on a nice day it can get a little crowded.
  • Great place to go for a walk. Has a restaurant at this location and beat access
  • Where: Third Beach - Vancouver, BC What: A beachfront with access to cycling path. How was it: This was our first time seeing the Pacific ocean, so it was a special place. We will forever remember the time we spent here. The beach is nice, kind of cold to swim but you can dip your feet in the water. There is also a series of rocks you can walk on that brings you above the water. We spent a good deal of time here and also had lunch at the concession stand nearby. Our only regret is not going to see the Siwash rock. Which only means that we should come back some day ! Grade: Eli = 4, Serge = 4 Recommend: Yes, make this a stopping point when visiting Stanley park.
