Since 1910, the playgrounds of PNE - Pacific National Exhibition have served as a public exhibition and host to many a fair and expo. Opened by Prime Minister Wilfrid Laurier, the grounds are best known for hosting a two week-long fairs every summer, complete with food kiosks, shops, performances, rides, and fireworks. During World War II, the exhibition was used a military training ground as well a prison for Japanese Canadians; a section of the park pays tribute to this darker chapter in Canadian history. In the off-season, the park hosts many concerts and welcomes guests eager to visit the permanent amusement park. Spent a lovely day at the PNE. Great to experience agricultural even Nets, show jumping, and concerts.
This is my favorite theme park. it's not as big, but all the attractions are all close to each other, so you don't have to walk everywhere to find a ride. I love all the rides but mostly I like the ne... read more »
I can't wait to return to the PNE! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. There were so many different vendors I wish I had a chance to visit them all.
