Nitobe Memorial Garden, Vancouver

Categories: Gardens, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.6/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web
Built to memorialize Japanese author Nitobe Inazo, Nitobe Memorial Garden serves as a peaceful break from the hustle and bustle of Vancouver, while giving a glimpse into Japanese culture. Walk through the 1 ha (2.5 acre) ground to observe the layout of the plants, pond, and structures. The plants mesh with the large native trees that surround the garden by starting tall and gradually shrinking in height as you move towards the center. After observing the garden, head into the tea house for some authentic tea and a chance to observe a tea ceremony. • I was surprised and in Vancouver of Canada, The University of British Colombia (UBC) University is such a beautiful recreational area. It is a tired bunch of students to study, always go to green space. UBC student is free of charge.

  • A beautiful gem inside kelowna. Very peaceful and tranquil. There was a fantastic tour and they even fed they koi so they'd come to the top for us. Very friendly staff. Well maintained landscaping. Nice little gift shop,
  • The most beautiful Japanese garden I've ever seen. Relatively small but beautifully designed and very well maintained. It provides a sense of great serenity, accentuated by massive cedar trees, reminding the viewer that they are in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Beautiful, peaceful, and well maintained. Try and get there before the crowds as it can get busy during tourist season.
  • Very nice Japanese Garden. Although a little small, the park is well cared for and wonderful to walk around in. Highly recommended.
  • Peaceful. Tranquil. Calm. Beautiful.
