Nitobe Memorial Garden, Vancouver
(4.6/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
Built to memorialize Japanese author Nitobe Inazo, Nitobe Memorial Garden serves as a peaceful break from the hustle and bustle of Vancouver, while giving a glimpse into Japanese culture. Walk through the 1 ha (2.5 acre) ground to observe the layout of the plants, pond, and structures. The plants mesh with the large native trees that surround the garden by starting tall and gradually shrinking in height as you move towards the center. After observing the garden, head into the tea house for some authentic tea and a chance to observe a tea ceremony. See Nitobe Memorial Garden and all Vancouver has to offer by arranging your trip with our Vancouver itinerary maker.

  • Visited this small, equisite garden on a quiet afternoon close to closing time...in the rain...not many visitors, and it was absolutely the most beautiful, serene, uplifting zen garden. It is apparent...  more »
  • Exactly what is the UBC in Japan. At the entrance I tickets are available students appeared to be young people. 13.65 $ is a common ticket with the botanical gardens. Cute business card-sized tickets written by hand and two adults open punch gardens mark the admission. UBC map out on the back of the ticket, is too small to know where you are and what was. Inside is nice, I came back to Japan. Was healed!

  • This is a small garden for reflecting. The trees had their autumnal colors displayed making up for the lack of spring flowers. The water features add to the peacefulness.

  • Nice quiete garden for a walk and to descover the japanese art of gardening.
  • A beautiful gem inside kelowna. Very peaceful and tranquil. There was a fantastic tour and they even fed they koi so they'd come to the top for us. Very friendly staff. Well maintained landscaping. Nice little gift shop,
  • The most beautiful Japanese garden I've ever seen. Relatively small but beautifully designed and very well maintained. It provides a sense of great serenity, accentuated by massive cedar trees, reminding the viewer that they are in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Beautiful, peaceful, and well maintained. Try and get there before the crowds as it can get busy during tourist season.
  • A nice place to go and take a relaxing stroll. Lots of areas to sit and enjoy the scenery as well!
