Marine Building, Vancouver
(4.5/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web)
Once the tallest building in the British Empire, Marine Building sits as a tribute to art deco and the city. The building was completed in 1930, but its place as an attraction was hurt by the Great Depression. Today it is known as one of the most notable buildings in the city. Observe the building from the outside with its "icing" look. Walk through the interior to admire details such as marine animals and zodiac symbol decor. The elevators are lined with 11 local hardwoods and are a highlight of the attraction. Plan to visit Marine Building during your Vancouver vacation using our convenient Vancouver vacation builder.

  • The outside of the building has some great architecture. They don't allow you to see much inside unless you have business there, but the lobby is great and worth visiting.
  • Surely the Marine Building is the finest example of its kind in the world. Some compare it to the Empire State in New York, another icon of a by-gone era yet this building is more artistic in my view....  more »
