Marine Building, Vancouver
Categories: Architectural Buildings, Tourist Spots
Once the tallest building in the British Empire, Marine Building sits as a tribute to art deco and the city. The building was completed in 1930, but its place as an attraction was hurt by the Great Depression. Today it is known as one of the most notable buildings in the city. Observe the building from the outside with its "icing" look. Walk through the interior to admire details such as marine animals and zodiac symbol decor. The elevators are lined with 11 local hardwoods and are a highlight of the attraction. Plan to visit Marine Building during your Vancouver vacation using our convenient Vancouver vacation builder.
