Marine Building, Vancouver
(4.5/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web)
Once the tallest building in the British Empire, Marine Building sits as a tribute to art deco and the city. The building was completed in 1930, but its place as an attraction was hurt by the Great Depression. Today it is known as one of the most notable buildings in the city. Observe the building from the outside with its "icing" look. Walk through the interior to admire details such as marine animals and zodiac symbol decor. The elevators are lined with 11 local hardwoods and are a highlight of the attraction. Plan to visit Marine Building during your Vancouver vacation using our convenient Vancouver vacation builder.

  • Riding the elevators is truly an experience if you like the magnificent wood inside the elevators. They are a work of art, as is the insider of the building.
  • The detail of this art-deco building is magnificent - both inside, and out. Thankfully, one can enter the building...look up and walk all the way around. I found myself "ooohing" and "awwwing" to myse...  more »
