  • Granville street is a major thoroughfare in the city. Piece by piece sudby marine drive, runs through the residential part of shaughnessy and later became the bridge, Granville bridge, and get over the Bay in the center of town. This 1 hour ride aboard the bus # 10. But where it becomes interesting to Granville street and why? Crossing the bridge and arrive at the city center, the left and right panorama looks somewhat bleak: bums and PoG furnish well good sidewalks of dilapidated buildings remaining (the city is making a huge effort to redevelop the area) where lots of bars and nightclubs for teenagers along with convenience stores, tim hortons, 7/11 and some hotel. But the whole is perceived as shabby and uninviting. Suffice it to say that over the weekend because of abnormal influx of people in bars, all buses are being rerouted in Howe St., parallel to Granville. It remains another trunk road for public transport but in itself .... not worth too much time to spare. And ... attention ... to all the shady arriving from east hasting street: mental illness is a rule in these streets, so ... Watch out and safe in number.

  • I have dealt with Granville Optical for several decades and always found the staff competent, helpful and personable.
  • Can't say enough great things about this place. I had just gone to get my eyes checked this morning, after a lazy 5 years of not doing so, at a different optician who prescribed me very expensive Astigmatism contacts for each eye. I had only called this place to check if they had them in stock and the price, just to shop around a bit since they were so pricey. I spoke with Floyd on the phone and after a short chat he invited me down to help me find the right contacts. After he spent some time with me checking my eyes again, he explained that I would actually be fine with regular contacts and had the perfect fit the first time i tried them on. He ended up saving me about 150 dollars, and didn't even charge me extra for spending the time with me and being so extremely helpful and informative. You can really tell that they are more concerned about your eye health and the perfect prescription rather than making another quick buck. I will keep going here as long as i need anything for my eyes. Thanks Floyd!
  • The staff was really helpful, kind and patient, they showed me what I wanted, they were not trying to sell me expensive glasses or services, they gave me what I asked for :) Also, they have a huuuuge selection of glasses and all the patience in the world, love this place!!!!
  • I live in Abbotsford and I go here... Just saying.
  • I bought a pair of glasses there about 6 months ago... The guy asked me to come in later and let him know how everyone like them and I never did. But I wish I did because they are awesome! He found the perfect pair for me and help me crawl out of my comfort zone to something absolutely wicked! These glasses help me do more than see... I am now more confident and I feel like a mature young woman ready to take on the world... all because the gentleman at this store picked out the perfect glasses. Definitely recommend this place to pick up your next (or first) pair of glasses!
