Granville Island Brewing, Vancouver

4.0
#1 of 15 in Breweries in Vancouver
Take a tour through a local brewery and try out some of the craft beers that helped grow the Canadian beer industry at Granville Island Brewing. The brewery was founded in 1984 with the goal of bringing better beer options to locals who had limited choices. Get a tour of the facilities, learn about the process for brewing their main brews and small-batch brews, and end with a tasting of several different ones. You can stop for a meal at the on-site restaurant before heading over to shop for some memorabilia or your own six-pack. I only went for the beer and was not disappointed. I also bought some stuff from the gift shop. If you want to go, try going later in the day or evening. At lunchtime, seems to be really crowded  more »

This was a lovely and wonderful brewery! Terrific beer tastings! We tried 10 beers for $18 and weren't let down! If you're in town, come by and check it out. It's in the mix of shops here on Granville island. Also, for us the English bay pale ale tasted just like the maple shack cream ale tasted exactly the same to us. Very interesting to try all the rotating microbrews! See what you taste!

Just went for some beers first time around. They have some of the best craft beer an independent Canadian brewery has to offer. Good stuff all around, something for everyone's tastes. Good prices for drinks as well. Honey lager is a must taste in my book.

Great service. We came in right at last call just to wait for a few friends that were already there to finish their beers. The server offered us a beer while we waited and gave us time to finish it.

Really solid beers, nice rotating taps too. The summer and raspberry ales were gen highlights for me. Left off a star because the food was ok but left a little to be desired. The service staff was spectacular and took great care of everyone.

Do the brewery tour if you can. I've done it before but missed the last tour on this visit. You can get a selection of beers to try for a reasonable price. You may have to wait for a seat at busy times
