Canada Place, Vancouver

Stop at Canada Place, the region’s main cruise ship terminal, and watch as crowds of passengers disembark to be met by the frigid Alaskan weather. An important location in the city, the docks house several landmarks, including the Vancouver Convention Centre and Vancouver’s World Trade Centre. Observe the unusual architecture, modeled on a boat sail, or take to the skies on the virtual flight ride, FlyOver Canada. Enjoy a meal cooked by renowned chefs at the complex’s restaurant, or simply take in the wonderful waterfront views, as sea birds soar past and various seafaring vessels come and go. • There is nothing special. It's just that there is an ordinary pedestrian walkway that is able to make a close-up shot of the North Vancouver, but the walkway does not bypass the entire building, so it has to go back to the original road. So don't expect too much.

  • I say that great view from here. And looks also North Vancouver River is one of the scenic spots in Vancouver.

  • We tried to see "Fly over Canada" without reservations. Even in the winter at 10a the next open show was 2p. Good thing the Tourism office is just across the street. Friendly and warm with options.  more »

  • I love this place for it's incredible views. No matter what weather it is - sun, rain or snow - the views are fantastic. The mountains can be green or covered with snow or hidden in frog or clouds but I can't stop admiring them. I like also looking at the water it relaxes me. And another thing what I like about Canada Place is huge cruise ships landing on the terminals. They are so immense and beautiful! And I dream to go to a sea trip on board of such a ship. So once in Vancouver everybody should visit this place. It is definitely a landmark of this great city.
  • Perfect for taking anyone that's new to the Vancouver area or is visiting. The view is just gorgeous and breathtaking with lots of architecture, exotic restaurant sand tons of little street shops to visit. Canada place is in the heart of waterfront and is a must-see if you're in downtown Vancouver.
  • Had a lovely walk around Canada Place spectacular views of Vancouver harbour. They had a Christmas tree display out side but local Business each had a tree. They seam to keep it nice and clean they had the painter do touch up work well we were there. Staff were very friendly to us.
  • It's a nice place for taking pictures as you have a beautiful view over the sea. I've been there during the Christmas season so it was decorated a bit which was nice but nothing extremely special. It was a good evening though!
  • The Fly Over The North Pole movie was great but the parking was brutal (no signs anywhere) and the access to the upper levels was a very frustrating experience. Then once inside the walk to the IMAX is long with very little guidance and difficult for the elderly. Then getting to the theatre was even more confusing. The ten minute of flying over Canada was fantastic but ten minutes isn't worth the trouble it takes getting there (more time finding the right parking and finding an open entrance and then the very long walk to the theatre without much guidance).
