(240+ reviews on the web)
Historic Site
Take a tour of Old Jail of Trois-Rivieres, one of the longest-operating prisons in Canada, and a now classified heritage building. The detention center opened in 1822, but despite ongoing improvements over the years, was closed in 1986. Take a guided tour through the cells and dungeons of the prison. Sometimes, a former inmate will deliver your tour, and will teach you about their personal experience of prison life. Be aware that some of the guides don't speak English, so tours are often delivered in French only.
