  • Wards Island is easily accessible by ferry. It is the best place to see Toronto’s skyline. The island itself is green, quiet and beautiful.  more »
  • The price on the ferry is 7 dollars round-trip, there are beautiful views of the city. In winter, it is too cold so give you a return and will already be sufficient. It seems that in summer, the beach, should have more life.

  • A nice island off the Toronto shores of Lake Ontario. The ferry service is quick and efficient (and warm) in getting you to the island. Very worthwhile for a winterly stroll or, of course, in summer, to hang out at the beach. I wish the restaurant scene was a little livelier, but, Wards Island is a great place to relax, either way.
  • Nice small beach, a little short on length and width but does the trick if you want a quick beach experience close to the city.
  • It's nice place to spend the day, especially walking along the Island, well worth it when you make to one side of the island or another. Not sure why people say the waters dirty, any public water needs to be filtered before drinking. Does get busy since it's so close to the downtown core.
  • A beautiful spot hang on the beach or swim in summery, and you can trek along throughout the winter.
  • Less crowded so I really liked the beach!

Where to stay in Toronto

Most visitors stay in the historic neighborhood of Old Toronto, as the central district offers unparalleled access to the best attractions in the city and several metro stations within walking distance. If you're looking for a different taste of Toronto, stay in the trendy neighborhoods of West Queen West or King West Village, popular for their nightlife, arts, and cafe scenes. You can embrace Toronto's multicultural charms by staying in Chinatown, perhaps the city's best location for foodies.
