Spadina Museum, Toronto

4.5
Focused on bringing its guests into the 1920s and 1930s, Spadina Museum shows visitors how life in those decades changed the culture of Toronto. Once you step into the house, you'll feel like you've been transported to the interwar period in Toronto. Take a guided tour of the museum to have an expert explain the artifacts, furnishings, and historical items in an engaging manner. Once you're finished with the tour, step outside into the 2.4 ha (6 acres) of gardens set on the estate. • Spading museum was actually a home inhabited by the Austin family continuously for more than 100 years. After we toured Casa Loma, we walked next door to the Spadina museum and was impressed by the co...  more »
  • We really liked the tour, at the beginning we consider only stroll the gardens but at the end we encourage us to make the tour of the House, which we thought was very informative and entertaining. We were lucky that touched us free entry during the entire month of November. The House is very representative of the era and is full of history.

  • Inspires and soothes. Here for the "Music in the Orchard" series. Amazing !!
  • Excellent tour guide and a hidden gem. Well worth the small entrance fee.
  • WONDERFUL service, very informative and polite staff, both indoor and outdoor areas are clean and visually appealing
  • Nice guided tour. I think to see the upper floors you have to be on a guided tour which happens at various times throughout the day. The basement has the entrance, a lovely gift shop and a few exhibits.
  • Amazing tour for great price. I was going to go to casa loma but the prices were high and the lines too long. I went here and never regretted it. The garden is filled with beautiful flowers, and the house is perfect.

Where to stay in Toronto

Most visitors stay in the historic neighborhood of Old Toronto, as the central district offers unparalleled access to the best attractions in the city and several metro stations within walking distance. If you're looking for a different taste of Toronto, stay in the trendy neighborhoods of West Queen West or King West Village, popular for their nightlife, arts, and cafe scenes. You can embrace Toronto's multicultural charms by staying in Chinatown, perhaps the city's best location for foodies.
