Our dealing with Cynthia was so refreshing. It is not often anymore that someone takes the time to get to know their customer. Definitely a five star experience.
I came to the store with limited time (one day) to find treasures for our new home. There is truly something here for every budget and taste and it was hard to limit myself to just a few items! In the... read more »
We began what we thought would be a long and difficult search for the perfect engagement ring at Cynthia's, imagining her wonderful establishment would be the first stop of many to come. Wrong. We fou... read more »
As a lover of all things vintage I was absolutely enamored the second I walked in this shop. They have everything, although I was on a hunt for a silver vintage locket, early 1900's era, I took a peek at a lot of their stuff! Vases, purses, lamps, furniture, art, China, crystal and the JEWELLERY OHMYGOD. This is a huge shop and everything has been meticulously curuated. I loved everything. The owner had lovely gentleman help me choose a locket out while she showed my boyfriend some gorgeous vintage engagement rings! They had hundreds of lockets which were all wonderfully organized. I found the perfect one and he helped me choose the perfect chain. Came back to the boyfriend to discover Cynthia showing him the prettiest engagement rings. They had the loveliest art deco rings. Elegant dinner rings and show stopping solitaires. The owner was kind and so patient. She taught us about each ring we liked, it's history and quality. I just love a piece with a story. My partner bought me my locket and the owner even gave me a petite bottle of Dom champagne for my birthday! I will definitely be back and could spend all day looking at different items and picking up my own treasures. Thanks for the champagne Cynthia. It was such a pleasure chatting with you. I love my locket!!
It has been a dream of mine to have an authentic Victorian Era piece of jewelry and was so happy my husband made an appointment for us to visit Cynthia Findlay for a 10th wedding anniversary gift. We purchased a beautiful 1890s late victorian diamond and sapphire ring which came in its original blue leather ring box. Even though it was the first ring we selected we browsed other rings and designs for a good 1hr before we went through with the purchase. The customer service was awesome and Cynthia herself chatted with us about the piece. Regarding price they have an appraisal certificate and are knowledgeable about the quality of the product. I imagine pricing vintage jewelry can be very challenging but I was completely satisfied with my purchase. I will be going there again for a georgous pair of earings I saw .... which I have my heart set on. They also gave us a bottle of champagne to celebrate our big day and a couple of trinkets for my 2 kids. I would recommend Cynthia Findlay to anyone looking to purchase vintage jewelry.
Purchased a "supposedly" one of a kind, vintage aquamarine ring for approximately $400 at this store and weeks later found the exact same ring at a jewelry vendor in the path by the Eaton Centre for $80!!! I took it back to Cynthia and explained the situation as well as showed pictures of the identical ring I found - they informed me that the sale was final. I had to argue with them for about an hour and a half before they finally agreed to give me a refund. This store is a complete fraud... don't waste your time or you money there.
My fiance and I went to the store a few months ago on a recommendaction from a friend. We actually had an appointment to have a custom ring made by a different vendor but decided to cancel once we found the perfect ring at Cynthia's store. The sales associate was helpful, friendly and very informative. She knew exactly what I was looking for and actually assisted me in finding my dream ring on the first try. She then spent a good amount of time comparing other styles to ensure I was happy with my choice. She did not try to sway me to increase our budget, in fact she was very cautious of this and made sure any item she showed was within range. Upon taking the ring home, Cynthia personally reached out to me via email to offer a courier to come pick up and size my ring. She apologized for not offering it previously. I was impressed with the level of customer service and how she took the time to contact me. I would definitely go back for additional pieces. Thank you for the lovely experience!
We had a great experience here. Before shopping, my only prerequisite for our rings was that they had to be vintage. Both Now Magazine and Blog T.O. listed Cynthia Findlay as a preferred option. We found an engagement ring and two wedding bands during a fun and relaxed visit, trying many to be certain we were happy with our selections. We arranged a deposit and a layaway. During the layaway period, we asked for photos, arranged for a new shank on the engagement ring, and then settled our account early to have the rings for Valentine's Day. All of these requests were handled by Cynthia in a quick and friendly manner. We recommend Cynthia Findlay to anyone who's considering vintage.
