Cheese Boutique was started in 1970 as a humble mom and pop corner store on Bloor Street. Having grown into a gourmet staple, 15 years ago it set up a new home in a former sausage factory on an industrial strip called Ripley Avenue off South Kingsway.
This epicurean emporium contains the cumulative knowledge of three generations. Over the years Cheese Boutique has augmented their offerings and people are noticing and appreciating. Pristine patriarch Fatos was recently honoured with the title of Knight of the Order of Agricultural Merit and his son, Afrim, was made a chevalier by Confrérie des Chevaliers du Taste Fromage de France in 2007.
At Cheese Boutique prosciutto hangs from the ceiling, truffles are flown in every Wednesday, foie gras sits under lock and key, beef is dry aged 60 days, there are olive oils from 80 different terroirs and jams made from green walnuts, the best artisanal breads of the city, not to mention the chocolate boutique, pastry temptations and daily handpicked produce - but it is for the cheese that one must really come here. This is a place where "best before" dates do not apply. Taking something good and making it great is a constant philosophy of Cheese Boutique.
Aging and curing everything from cheese to beef to Meyer lemons is done with the expert knowledge that only comes with years of experience. Patrons can get a glimpse of the process by visiting the unique Cheese Vault.
Cheese Boutique has been supplying Toronto with succulent selections for 43 years and appreciates fine food as one does fine art. At this food museum, one’s allowed to not only take the art home, but nibble it enroute.

Amazing boutique store with so many cheeses and friendly staff! Great store, but spend more than expected... Worth the detour.
Ok, I was a baby when they opened at the bottom of our street in Bloor West Village, but my mom took me every week to load up on the best European deli food around. They moved a number of years ago to... read more »
Very friendly knowledgeable hardworking stuff. The best selection of cheeses and cold cuts in the town, great fresh food and delicious cakes to die for...
This place is everything you could ever want in a cheese boutique. :D When you first enter this store, you might think it's a bit of a maze but it's simply a very well organized path with sooo many different products that can compliment cheese all leading to the cheese itself. BBQ sauces, hot sauces, breads, crackers, oils, all leading up to a very large oval with many different kinds of cheese. Staff are friendly and provide samples of all of the cheeses before you buy. For a unique experience, if your nose can handle it, try entering the cheese cave and watch ageing in progress! Such a unique store. If I had any complaint, it would be the lack of parking but that's Toronto. However, on busy days, they have dedicated parking staff that will help you get in and out of spots on both sides of the road. I live in Woodstock but will visit this store the majority of the time I'm in Toronto. Yummy!
More than just a simple cheese shop. As you walk in you will realize this is foodie central. There are fine staple such as olive oil and dried pasta, a bakery counter for fresh crusty bread, a deli counter for delicious cured meats and house made pates, and of course, one of the most diverse selection of cheeses available. Don't know what you want? Talk to one of the cheese hawkers behind the counter and they'll ask the right questions to get you the right cheese for your mood and occasion. Don't miss the cheese cellar... You're welcome to stroll in and take in the aging process.
Awesome selection and service. The staff is extremely helpful and patient, always willing to explain or give samples. Their in house prosciutto is really good.
Best cheese shop in the city. I love all the specialty foods they have as well as their butcher and prepared food sections. Friendly service!
