CF Sherway Gardens, Toronto

(4.2/5 based on 80+ reviews on the web)
Sherway Gardens is a large retail shopping mall in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The mall is located several kilometres west of downtown Toronto in the former suburb of Etobicoke, near the interchange of Highway 427 with the Queen Elizabeth Way and Gardiner Expressway. The mall opened in 1971. Its original structure covered 850000sqft in an S-shaped configuration and contained 127 stores. It was expanded in 1975, 1987, 1989, and 2015. Sherway is now 1182000sqft, has 215 stores, and is the eighth largest mall in the Greater Toronto Area. As the mall has grown, it has changed its mix of stores from a general mix of stores to add more fashion-conscious and luxury brand stores.HistoryThe Sherway Gardens mall, a $21.5 million project, was revealed to the public by Sherway Gardens Limited on February 24, 1971. The mall was laid out in an “S” shape design. Community events and promotional activities took place at the centre of the mall in the central court with its 31ft high skylight. Like other shopping centres, Sherway Gardens contains fountains, indoor greenery, benches and couches for the enjoyment of shoppers. Unlike the designs of other malls, such as the Toronto Eaton Centre, Sherway Gardens was built with “intimate low ceilings”.In 1975, to accommodate for 75 new retail spaces, the “S” layout was altered to resemble a figure eight. A few years later, in 1987, Holt Renfrew (one of Sherway Gardens anchor retailers) was moved to a newly built wing on the north side of the mall The expansion allowed for 20 additional stores and was later referred to as the “fashion wing”, as it housed clothing stores.

  • The shopping centre has great stores, lots of choices of restaurants to eat it, and it is overall very clean and well kept.
  • We were at Square One the day before since we hadn't looked if it had a Lego store. Judging by the size and how nice it looked we assumed it had one but it didn't. This one is even more upscale and wa...  more »

  • Food court is being relocated to somewhere else and still under construction, can be hard to find a place to grab a bite if you're hungry, they do however have a few coffee shops in the centre. A giant variety of casual and luxurious stores for you to pick, but beware that bathrooms are hard to find and they only have a few… It's understandable since the centre is undergoing a major reconfiguration and enhancement. New features will be added upon the completion.
  • This is probably my favorite mall in this city. I come here as often as I can, which isn't very since I live pretty far, but love stopping by when I'm passing through the area. The recent expansion is nice! It really opens up the space which I guess previously felt a little confined due to the low ceilings. I always liked the original food court because it was so open and airy, but I think I like the new one even better. There's so much space and more food options. There are a few restaurants as well. The Pickle Barrel has been my usual choice though Beaumont Kitchen at Saks has been nice my last couple of visits. I really just tend to come by following a long trip and feeling pretty exhausted, and I just find it a great place to get some nice food, then a coffee and dessert, and recharge for a couple of hours.
  • CF Sherway has become my favorite hangout spot. IF you are bored and have nothing to do, just take a trip to CF Sherway and window shop. The shops are beauty and the prices very competitive. I am sure that after you window shop; you will definitely spend your cash. The location boast one of the very best eating facility in Toronto. A renovation well done
  • Perfect place to shop for all your needs, despite its very expensive to shop here. A nice place to take your girlfriend out on a date. Even just for hanging around its also perfect for all occasions. I would recommend this Shopping Mall to everyone but just make sure your loaded with Cash/Money in your Pocket or Wallet. Even better if you hit the $1 Milliom Dollar Jackpot from the Lottery just don't spend it all on one thing in the Mall unless you have too. I would LOVE to shop here & take my girls out here just to hang around.
  • Been coming to this mall since I was a small child. Lately I've been staying away from it due to the fact that most of the stores have been all replaced with high end stores. It's been snuffing out the more affordable stores for a few years now. The old food court was in my opinion much better. The new food court is too overwhelming and unorganized. A good portion of the mall is still under construction, yet all the stores are accessible.
