Gift & Specialty Shop Shopping
Sherway Gardens is a large retail shopping mall in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The mall is located several kilometres west of downtown Toronto in the former suburb of Etobicoke, near the interchange of Highway 427 with the Queen Elizabeth Way and Gardiner Expressway. The mall opened in 1971. Its original structure covered 850000sqft in an S-shaped configuration and contained 127 stores. It was expanded in 1975, 1987, 1989, and 2015. Sherway is now 1182000sqft, has 215 stores, and is the eighth largest mall in the Greater Toronto Area. As the mall has grown, it has changed its mix of stores from a general mix of stores to add more fashion-conscious and luxury brand stores.HistoryThe Sherway Gardens mall, a $21.5 million project, was revealed to the public by Sherway Gardens Limited on February 24, 1971. The mall was laid out in an “S” shape design. Community events and promotional activities took place at the centre of the mall in the central court with its 31ft high skylight. Like other shopping centres, Sherway Gardens contains fountains, indoor greenery, benches and couches for the enjoyment of shoppers. Unlike the designs of other malls, such as the Toronto Eaton Centre, Sherway Gardens was built with “intimate low ceilings”.In 1975, to accommodate for 75 new retail spaces, the “S” layout was altered to resemble a figure eight. A few years later, in 1987, Holt Renfrew (one of Sherway Gardens anchor retailers) was moved to a newly built wing on the north side of the mall The expansion allowed for 20 additional stores and was later referred to as the “fashion wing”, as it housed clothing stores.

  • TONIC HAIR SALON ~ I was recently there and was serviced by hair stylist Mary. My hair was an absolute mess and I had to have it completely "corrected" ... Mary was "AMAZING" I am SO GLAD that I went with this salon. I was very apprehensive after the "nightmare" from the last salon. Upon entering the salon, I was greeted right away by the staff and we started getting to work right away.Literally... Mary introduced herself to me and proceeded to talk about the steps on how to achieve my hair goal whilst showing me pictures to correct the mess. What I like about her is that she was honest with me from the beginning on what can be done and what we cant do. For short, just trust this woman because you wont regret it... she knows her stuff! How can you not love this type of customer service. Prices were affordable for the work she did. In conclusion, Mary and her team are impressive and will take care of your hair. I have finally found someone who I can trust with my hair so I highly recommend them! Am a repeat customer in the future for sure!
  • I don't know why anyone likes this mall. It's half new - half old - but always under construction. I just want to buy some diamonds, walk freely with my baby carriage with my iPhone 7S+ (RED) edition, and cool off with a unicorn frap from Starbucks. Sometimes if I feel fancy, I'll go to aroma but let's be real - I'm a self entitled corporate shill. Thankfully I can vent my emotions at cashiers but I can't seem to find my way out of this figure 8 maze. Just kidding there's another god damn loop in it now. Like I know Mean Girls was shot here but it's time to let go of the vintage taupe colour. The holiday events are... Interesting. I'm glad the Sherway manager hired his children to design the holiday events. I quite fancy the pipe cleaner flowers. Santa is cool though, quite possibly the best thing about that mall. No but for real though - just step back for a second and ask yourself "why?"
  • I really love this mall. I can't say that I have ever walked it fully but its arranged so nicely that the stores I frequent all seem to be right around the corner from each other. I like the fact that it has a lot of sitting space in the aisles, in front of the little coffee, yogurt and tea shops so that the retirees can grab a coffee and converse and still feel like they are apart of the hustle and bustle of things. I used to dislike this mall because of the parking but they have solved that problem by building a huge mult-storey lot. It's easy to access and I like it not sure why others don't.
  • The mother's lounge is a small paradise. Lots of changing stations and a whole room of nice chairs with privacy partitions. Also a small kids' table with chairs and a microwave and stroller parking.
  • Great mall, one of very places with Lego Store. Mall not busy during the weekday evenings for shopping without huge lineups. Updated and modern food court with decent fast food selection.
