  • Perhaps because we visited at the end of the season but the store seemed like it didn't have a lot of sweets that were different. We had ice cream and that was obvious that they were working on finish...  read more »

  • The hours of The Sweet Shop are listed until 6 pm. At 5:54 we approached the door with the intention of buying some fudge for our trip home. The door was ajar at the time, and as we went to open it fully, we were greeted by an older woman running across the store to the door to literally play tug of war with us, until we let go of the handle on our side and the door was slammed in our faces. We'll be back in town tomorrow, and we visit Tobermory often. I can say with confidence, future trips will not include a stop at The Sweet Spot; this last experience left me with a sour taste in my mouth.
  • Every year we visit Tobermory with our kids. And a regular stop is the Sweet Shop, spending unreasonable amounts on treats for the kids. Tonight, after picking up some ice cream, candy, and shakes, I asked for a small cup of water for my daughter. Chocolate shake in hand, they told me they had no cups. They did offer to sell me bottled water. Other customers could also not believe that they would deny a kid a small cup of water. They could have pointed me to a water fountain or even a washroom. It was an ugly and embarrassing moment. I get it. Cups cost money. And inventory is an issue, as well as sales. But we WERE customers who were treated quite horribly. That is inexcusable. We will never go back.
  • Yes everything is pricey here but if you want the best bang-for-buck head straight for the ice cream counter. The ice cream is made by London Ice Cream Company and it is of excellent quality. It's also not cheap but well worth it!
  • A good selection of ice cream, with a single scoop being a generous portion - enough for an adult who loves ice cream! Huge selection of candy, but much of it can be bought at your local variety store. Best deals are store-brand chocolates and fudge or candy that is not commonly found in the grocery store.
  • Great collection of ice cream for a decent price. I recommend cappuccino extreme. They are very generous with their scoops.
