Flowerpot Island, Tobermory
(4.7/5 based on 320+ reviews on the web)
Explore the fascinating Flowerpot Island, accessible only by boat, and discover one of Canada’s most impressive natural beauties. The island takes its name from the two rock pillars located on the eastern shore, which resemble flower pots and even have trees growing out of the top of the stacks. Spend your time on the island admiring the rock formations, hiking the trails on offer, exploring caves, or swimming in the cool bays. The beaches on the island aren’t sandy, so bring appropriate footwear. If you want to stay overnight, take advantage of one of the six campsites on the island. However, make sure you call in advance to reserve your space. Bring plenty of water for the duration of your stay, as there is no tap water on the island. Flowerpot Island is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Tobermory Edition.

  • This is a must for anyone who appreciates nature in a more 'natural' state. The boat ride is a good last kick to get out of the 'city mode'. The shore around the whole Island is pristine. Opaic Jade c...  more »
  • My wife went and said it was really nice a bit more walking than she wanted. But she liked the boat ride and the views on the island. Her photos were really great. I went scuba diving instead.
  • It was a good hike in this island. You will be rewarded by nice views of the rocks and the 2 flowerpots. The cave was nothing fantastic but a nice experience. The dissappointment of the island was the...  more »
