Terry Fox Monument, Thunder Bay

(4.8/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
Terry Fox Monument commemorates one of Canada's most famous and heartbreaking figures and his quest to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Runner Terry Fox began his run across Canada in April 1980, and ended his journey in Thunder Bay when it became too painful to continue. Head up to the monument and enjoy the sweeping view of the surrounding city and bay. Admire the 2.7 m (9 ft) bronze statue, set upon a massive granite base, and its depiction of Terry Fox in the final steps of his marathon. • Great place to have a quick pit stop and read about Terry Fox's Marathon of Hope, if you don't already know about it. Easy in and out from Highway 17.
  • Will go back already planning to Rick hunt again and go to falls highly rate this beautiful city. The friship gardens we hope to see beaches are totally beautiful
  • Well Done tribute to a great Canadian. Well landscaped with numerous picnic tables to enjoy a lunch before or just reflect. Tremendous view of Thunder Bay. Accessible from either direction.
