Terry Fox Monument commemorates one of Canada's most famous and heartbreaking figures and his quest to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Runner Terry Fox began his run across Canada in April 1980, and ended his journey in Thunder Bay when it became too painful to continue. Head up to the monument and enjoy the sweeping view of the surrounding city and bay. Admire the 2.7 m (9 ft) bronze statue, set upon a massive granite base, and its depiction of Terry Fox in the final steps of his marathon.
