Discover Quebec's religious history with a visit to Petite Chapelle de Tadoussac, which ranks as the oldest wooden church still in existence in North America. Built back in 1747, this compact red-roofed building holds a place in local hearts as well as pride of place on Tadoussac's picturesque waterfront, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and verdant rolling hillsides. Snap pictures of the exterior and then step inside, where the church occasionally hosts exhibits detailing the life of the first Jesuit missionaries that worshipped at the altar here. • On a sunny day it is a joy to see the little white Chapel, with its red roof and the marine cemetery next door, with its green lawn where crossing a group of children, without any hesitation, laughing and playing from the top of the village of Tadoussac. The blue of the sea in the background was a nearly perfect picture frame. It did not need to or see its wooden interior because here the whole, beautiful, what mattered was not the simple detail. It is one of the memories more beautiful in my trip.

  • Hard to miss this small chapel of Tadoussac on the waterfront. Unfortunately, rarely open, because often in work in the summer, you can however visit this chapel from the outside!

  • You can not visit because she is in the works. Only the cemetery is free access, otherwise the outside is nice.
