  • Great park for dogs, there is a large off leash area, and there is a fairly lengthy loop trail. There is the west side where a loop trail follows the Serpentine river to the fish hatchery. On the east side is a paved pathway for multi-use so you do need to look out for the occasional bike that uses the path. The off leash area is enclosed at a couple of entry ways, although there is path that leads to the trail that has only a small wood gate without any fencing. Much of the path is gravel and smoothed out, although over the summer months there are a lot of bramble that grows wild, and you may have to be careful with your dogs to check their pads in case they pick up thorns. There is water at all entry points, and usually there are plenty of poop bags provided, and there are several trash bins in the middle of the park to properly dispose of the waste. That said, there are often many owners usually with the larger dogs that tend to romp in the tall grassy fields, and usually they cannot be picked up. During the summer months the smell from dog waste in the upper parking lot can be quite heavy.
  • We have taken our small dog to this leash-optional dog park. The owners are either super friendly or downright rude. The first time we went there it was a nice experience . The second time, we had a dog owner harass us for having our dog on a leash. Some owners dont even pick up after their dogs. The third time, our dog almost got attacked by another dog, the owner already knew his dog was aggressive as he kept calling for her as we got closer. Then the owner had the audacity to call us morons for bringing our dog to an apparent "off leash" park. Where clearly his ugly mutt was the aggressor. After a back and forth with the owner we told him he needs to control his dog because she still kept coming towards us and now the owner got aggressive. As they say, the dogs going to be like their owner; fat, ugly, and aggressive. Ruined our whole time there. There's even signs that says "leash-optional... Have control of your own dog... Etc." Definitely wont be going back ever again.
  • Lovely place for a good brisk walk, run or casual stroll. Salmon spawn here in the fall. Three or four major entrances and lots of parking with plenty of washroom facilities
  • I love the peaceful walk. There's awesome people with beautiful dogs that love to check my pockets for treats. The river and creeks are my favorite stops along the trails. The hatchery is a wonderful experience! I went to see the processthis fall. It's very educationaland extremely important to all of us. My husband and myself visit here often.
  • Great place to walk your dog. The place is huge and the trail is well maintained. I highly recommend this park to all dog lovers!
