Bannerman Park is a Victorian-style urban park located in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. The park was officially opened in 1891. Sir Alexander Bannerman, Governor of the Colony of Newfoundland from 1857 to 1864, donated the land to create the park.

Today, the park is surrounded by historic buildings and Victorian bed and breakfasts. It contains a public swimming pool, playground, a baseball diamond and many large open grassy areas. A revitalization plan for the park was launched in 2010. This plan includes an outdoor skating rink, a new playground, upgrades to the pool area and a new entrance. The plan is expected to be completed in 2014 for the 150th anniversary of the park.

Bannerman Park plays host to many festivals and sporting events, most notably the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival and St. John's Peace-a-chord and it is the finishing location for the Tely 10.

  • Great park in a wonderful location that's good for all people of all ages. I work in the area and will occasionally grab a coffee and go for a stroll around the park on my lunch. Beautiful park with a great atmosphere, worth checking out if your new to the area or if your a local in the area like myself, a nice way to spend a little or alot of time.
  • Bannerman Park, recently updated, has something for everyone. It is a jewel in the midst of the city, with pleasant walking areas, a memory garden for quiet contemplation, a play area with summer splash pad for kids, a pool and newly refurbished facilities, a baseball diamond, and an incredible skating loop for winter activities, among other features. Throw a frisbee, relax in the sun, check out the gardens, or head to the nearby Hungry Heart Cafe at Rawlins Cross and pick up a take-away "Loop Bag" picnic lunch, and enjoy a stroll and a delicious meal.
  • A great park to bring toddlers to. Lots of climbing equipment and ample play area, as well as picnic tables and a splash pad. Really nice place.
  • Great place to sit in the sun or stroll around. Park infrastructure is growing making it much more attractive.
  • Great splash pad and pool. Nice park. Public swim is very short
