Railway enthusiasts should not miss West Coast Railway Heritage Park, a museum with the second-largest collection of train memorabilia and artifacts. Dedicated to collecting, preserving, and displaying historical railway parts, the institution engages visitors of all ages. Younger members of the family can let their imaginations run wild in the large play area upstairs, as well as on a mini rail located outside. Pay special attention to the rare Royal Hudson #2860 steam locomotive, acquired in 2006. Take a look at our Squamish family vacation planner to schedule your visit to West Coast Railway Heritage Park and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

  • Beautiful place. Great venue. Neat yard to wonder around to check out some trains and a bit of squamish history
  • Amazing place for the kids. This place is a huge part of the community with events all the time. Staff and volunteers are just amazing people. I hope you can visit them to enjoy what they do.
  • Cool place. I was here for the CIMC conference and I really enjoyed it. The trains were and added bonus!
  • I previously wrote a review for this, so I don't know why it isn't here. I have gone here twice. If I lived closer, I would go more often. I recommend this to the rail geeks that I meet when I travel. There is a good collection of rolling stock. One is allowed to walk around and check things out freely. Some of the locomotives and cars are being worked on. Others, such as the Royal Hudson, are in top notch condition. That is the highlight of the visit and I suspect that people come from all over. There is a wonderful small gauge train on site. The volunteers have done a really good job of recreating the town of Spuzuum in miniature. I took it on both of my visits.
  • Great venue! Loved being there for CIMC!
