West Coast Railway Heritage Park, Squamish

(3.8/5 based on 170+ reviews on the web)
Railway enthusiasts should not miss West Coast Railway Heritage Park, a museum with the second-largest collection of train memorabilia and artifacts. Dedicated to collecting, preserving, and displaying historical railway parts, the institution engages visitors of all ages. Younger members of the family can let their imaginations run wild in the large play area upstairs, as well as on a mini rail located outside. Pay special attention to the rare Royal Hudson #2860 steam locomotive, acquired in 2006. Take a look at our Squamish family vacation planner to schedule your visit to West Coast Railway Heritage Park and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

  • I had the opportunity to visit this Museum, which is a bit away from all... located north west of Squamish. You can discover beautiful pieces of the history of the Canadian rail network... children and adults will be happy to discover these gems and their stories.

  • I'll credit this place for partially turning me into a real train buff. There is a huge collection of equipment here from many different road names. The website does not do the collection or the build...  more »

  • Don't know why? My kids love train so do I, may be guys always love big machine, they do a lot of great job there and I think they still working on because there still lot of train not yet restore, mostly lack of budget I believe, but you do learn as lot about history of train in Canada west coast. I take away one star because you will find very very hot inside those exhibit(train), no AC in the train or those old farm house, I visited there in summer just like in the oven, my family couldn't stay too long inside the train even though there are very nice. On the other hand they have a mini train ride my kids love it. It is a good place to explore with family.
  • THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. IT IS OFTEN OVERLOOKED AS THERE ARE MORE POPULAR ATTRACTIONS NEARBY. YOU WILL FIND SOME VERY INTERESTING VINTAGE TRAIN CARS AND ENGINES. THIS PLACE IS HISTORIC AND FUN TO VISIT.
  • Beautiful place. Great venue. Neat yard to wonder around to check out some trains and a bit of squamish history
  • Amazing place for the kids. This place is a huge part of the community with events all the time. Staff and volunteers are just amazing people. I hope you can visit them to enjoy what they do.
  • Cool place. I was here for the CIMC conference and I really enjoyed it. The trains were and added bonus!
