  • Short drive away from Vancouver. Love how there's a station for a quick shower at the top of the concrete stairs to rinse off the saltwater. Really neat to see all the divers coming out of the water. Limited parking. Super busy in the summer.
  • It's really hard to get a campsite here in the summer. But, if you do, consider yourself lucky. This places is very accessible from Vancouver and so it's a nice quick get away from the busy city life. While the park is near the train tracks its not really a bother... At least for me.
  • Park itself is great as usual but staff have become far more gestapo-ish over the years. Last time we went we were told of because our lantern was too bright. Also if you raise your voice to more than a whisper around the campfire after 10, you'll get told off, which is ironic considering there's usually a train going by every few hours.
  • We had to cancel, and the management of the campground said we would not be refunded, but thanked us for letting them know so they could now rent those spots to someone else. FOR DOUBLE THE PROFIT. That's pretty shady management. Don't support Porteau Cove.
  • Even if you're not staying the night the pier is really cool to check out. One of my favourite stops between Vancouver and Whistler.
