  • We spent the Labor Day long weekend at Selkirk Provincial Park in Selkirk, On. This was the first time to the park and we were pleased at the size of the electrical sites. The beach was very rocky and...  read more »

  • Recently purchased a 24' trailer and gathered up two teenagers and a dog (oh ya, and hubby - ) to try our hand at trailer life. Arrived on a Monday morning so lots of sites to chose from. Very spaciou...  read more »
  • Just returned from a Labour Day camping trip with our 6 year old. Selkirk is a nice place for a family camping trip. Its a small park so easy to walk everywhere. The bathroom was clean and well kept. The staff are very friendly and available. The nature trail is about 2 km and an easy walk for children. Lots of nice large oaks and shagbark hickory plus a marsh to see. The beach is rocky at the shoreline which makes for some tricky walking for about 5 metres. Afterwards there is a nice shallow sand bar. Even though the park was full it didn't feel crowded. No lineups at the showers and everyone was spread out at the beach. The campsites are large and more than sufficient. We stayed in the radio free campground which is always much appreciated for the extra quiet. We would stay here again but with so many great parks to explore in Ontario it may be a while until we get to circle back. If you haven't visited though we would recommend Selkirk.
  • Just returned from a two night stay. Site 135. Big site with 30 amp service AND water hookups. I think it's the only PP with that. The Beach is not great, very rocky and lots of seaweed. However, the park is full of mature couples during the week for a reason. Not very many kids because there isn't much for them to do. We like that. Only one comfort station might be a drawback for some. We travel with our own comfort. The beach at sunset is a stunning variety of pinks and blues and is a great picture. We will return. Wish it was open later in the season.
  • I visited for the day, checked out the campsites and the beach. The smell from the beach is horrendous. I would not swim in the water and I do not recommended it. However we did visit during a heat wave so that probably didn't help with the algae and seaweed. The campsites are okay, you can tell the campsite is meant for RV campers and older couples. I didn't tent camp because I didn't like the lack of privacy. I will visit again later on in the season.
  • We had a great long weekend camping at Selkirk! The grounds were very well kept and clean. Staff and rangers were very friendly and welcoming! We had site 24 and it was close to the bathrooms and water tap and was very private with lots of tree. The beach area was nice as well, rocky but lots of grass area and places to set up for a picnic lunch. Beautiful view across Lake Erie as well! If you're looking for a small campground this is a great one!
  • The campsites and washrooms were nice and clean and the staff were extremely helpful with any needs. They also offer a "Learn to Camp" program that's great for first timers.
