I visited with grandchildren, but we all thought the animals were in poor locations with mud and small areas for them to move. I think this place should be closed.
I live in Schomberg, and as far as I know, Puck's farm has been closed for a couple of years. Sadly, the only other farm in the area is Round the bend Farm located on Dufferin, just south of Lloydtown... read more »
Wow where to begin..we went last summer and hadn't been in awhile. The difference from years earlier was shocking. The place is a dump, the animals uncared for, the owners really don't give a crap and... read more »
When I look up schomberg cheese products.. your farm comes up?? This makes me wary.. as people seem so pleased with the puck farm.. do you own or associated or sell products through this company called " schomberge farms.". If not great... But if so.. you are misleading people.. ili hope the procssed cheese I just bought today that is due to expire in JULY OF 2016.. IS NOT YOURS!
By the look of a lot of the previous comments, many reviewers don't have that much experience on a real farm. We took our 3 grandchildren for the afternoon and they had a great time. This is a REAL farm, not a tourist attraction farm. I was brought up on one that was very similar in rural Manitoba. The animals are well treated, I saw no evidence of poor treatment. The facilities are not pristine-new, more like a ordinary working farm. The kids loved the rides- both hay and pony. The goats and the llama were our lunch picnic guests and the staff was more than obliging. If you want to experience a more genuine working farm with very helpful people you will find good value here
We loved it!!! The people there are so friendly and kind. You are able to take your child for a ride around on a horse as many times as you want, and you can lead it too! My two and a half yr old milked a cow under supervision. We went on a fun hay ride and enjoyed seeing Cindy the horse follow us on our trip. We laughed and enjoyed it thoroughly! The fries at the Snack Bar are great, a must try. Our toddler really enjoyed petting the farm animals and taking pictures with them. She speaks of it everyday, saying, "Remember the moo moo cow, and the horse", etc...Our response is yes and we loved it too! We'll go again and bring our family with us.
We just went there last year and just over the Civic Day long weekend. The people there are super friendly. It's not the cleanness place but it is a farm afterwards so expect to see and possibly step on poop. Our son loved the pony and wagon rides. He loves seeing the animals roaming freely. He got to come close to the animals and pet them. I wouldn't pay full price though, but worth it if you managed to get a deal.
We just came from Pucks farm on Victoria day. I have been raving about it to everyone I see since. I am shocked too see the bad comments here. This place was great . The staff and owners were the most honest and genuine, friendly people I can think of. They have had some hard times and are trying to keep this place alive. Farmer Kevin and his wife Miss Jenny have taken the place over from the original owner, her father who past away last year. They have great plans for the location. But its really great already. The farm is on a breathaking piece of land. Its a real visit to nature. You can really get in there and get to know the animals. We loved the goats - hand feeding them was amazing. We were given an opportunity to milk a jersey cow. The little barn tour was nice to hear some interesting facts on the land, history of the place and info on the animals. With your admission price, $10 per person but check the website, they had a 2 for one coupon... you get unlimited hay rides and pony rides. They allow you to lead your child on the pony around the little pond or they will lead if you prefer. We tried both but i really enjoyed leading the pony with my 3 year old on it. A great bonding experience for us to get to know the animal. Go try it for yourself. For those of you who want to see real farm life - dont worry about a bit of dirt... dont wear your best shoes. just get in there! Ive been to the bigger "more commercialized farms" too.... they are fun as well but this was a real gem. a great time can be had here. I felt so welcomed at pucks. Please go and see for yourself what i am talking about!!
