  • It's fine. It's great if you want organic crackers and home made jewelery. Plenty of interesting people to see, plenty of interesting things to buy. While the things are not very practical, you will leave feeling much more cultured and artistic than when you entered. Lots of art, lots of locally made and grown food.
  • If come to Salt Spring from Spring to Fall, you need to do so on a Saturday to visit the market and get to know some of the eclectic and talented island folks. Your spirits will be lifted and you also say, "I want to move here"! The kindest and friendliest people by far. Be sure to find and buy one of Pierre's pies.
  • Open air market in Ganges (town) on Salt Spring Island. Great mix of locally produced food and art. Favorites include Salt Spring Island Goat's cheese vendor and a number of hand-made pottery shops. A bit crowded and could be overwhelming for those who don't like small spaces; but it's a market so that is acceptable :)
  • I love the Saltspring Saturday market. It's jam packed with interesting and varied vendors of all kinds. If you are going, try to get there early to find a parking spot!
  • Delicious food, unique products, local and personal art. This is one of the faces of Salt Spring. Enjoy live music while sitting in the grass field eating and watching locals dance or play. The experience is like non-other and must be visited on a weekend. Extremely welcoming, you'll feel like you are a part of the Salt Spring family. Do not miss the market while travelling to Salt Spring!
