Visit the oldest continuously operating farmers market in Canada at Saint John City Market. The market's first charter dates back to 1785, and the site continues to thrive today with loyal farmers and customers. The building itself is said to have been built by unemployed sailors and is in the Second Empire style of architecture. Farmers, butchers, and fish merchants all have stalls throughout the market; look for tasty local snack foods and drinks as you shop. • Go visit Saint John and don't go visit it is losing the essence of local culture, there you will find all products of the region. Organic produce near perfect quality. Great places to eat oysters and lobsters, worth and is in the Centre of very easy access. While not as big deserves a lot of the visit.

  • Very cute and full of variety. Something to walk through just to see. Local artists as well as imported items. Didn't get any food, but many people were. So I suspect it was good.

  • One of the best places in the city, well worth the visit. Great selection of stores and some of the best food in the city. A must visit if you are in town.
  • I live in New Zealand and visited New Brunswick last year. St John's market was on my visiting list. I bought a picture from John but when I got home it was not here. He since posted it AND another one. Was this because of the mix up? So awesome! Thank you for a fabulous service and More. A wonderful place to shop. Thank you Canvas Pictures. Zoe Fryer
  • The blueberries I bought were not fresh. Also this market is quite basic relative to other markets around the world (eg Pike Place in Seattle)
  • Beautiful local market.. Don't forget to look UP! This market was built by ship builders and the roof tells all
  • Canadas oldest market. Quite large, lots of seafood and fresh fruit and produce and a couple souvenir shops.
