  • It is a happiness always renewed to go to Cap Tourmente in October. Changing color of hardwoods and the great migration during snow geese, it is simply magical. Fall track starts mid-September and ends around October 31. You can check the chart on the website of the Reserve of Cap Tourmente. You will find that the number of geese from one year to the other varies considerably from one day to the next. We were there around October 10 and that day, the census was 22 500 geese for the day. We were there while the tide was at its lowest level. So, we were able to observe them from a distance. But for us who have the chance to observe them in the fall and in the spring for years, didn't we point to see them so far. Cap Tourmente National Reserve was created to protect the American Bulrush Marsh. It is this plant that is the power of the snow goose during annual migration. In their journey every two years between their summer in the Arctic and their winter on the coast is American, they stop in the area of Cap Tourmente and Montmagny to feed of the Bulrush and grass rhizomes in the fields. If you see geese at high tide, these are closer to the shore and it is always nice to observe more closely. The Reserve of Cap Tourmente is made up of marshes, plains and forests, there are several species of birds, mammals and a wide variety of plants. Interpretive Centre: the interpretive centre offers an exhibition on the fauna and the flora, an audiovisual projection and you can meet naturalists. It is also the starting point for hiking trails. There are 20 km of trails classified easy, intermediate or difficult if your want to observe the geese and other birds, you absolutely must do the trail "the wood-feels-good". You can walk on a km, on boardwalks. This trail leads to an excellent observation post where caches are equipped with telescopes. A naturalist guide is also present to answer our questions. The Pavillon Léon-Provancher and the Observatory of birds of prey are also interesting. All hiking trails are well identified. This day, we come the #10 trails * ELMS lane * and the #11 trail * Le Pierrier *. Stop at the stop of the Pilgrim to observation. The most: the natural beauty of the Reserve, photography, bring your own lunch and have a picnic. May to October: 8:30-17: 00 the Reserve is open throughout the year. However, check their Web site for hours and days open depending on the time of year. We only ever went in winter but, for making the racket to Saint-Tite of Caps, the Reserve must be magical at this time of the year.

  • Beautiful! Some great walks are guaranteed on the 20 km of trails to the national reserve of fauna of cap Tourmente the spectacle offered by the 30,000 wild geese between the St. Lawrence River, and the marshes is lovely. They are the 'stars' of these places... These are the ones that led to its protection. I went to the information center for the laying of rings on some of the species which nest in forest habitats: (kinglet Ruby Crown, junco ardoisé, Bunting white throat). Certainly the photographer and hiker find their happiness.

  • Who's fond of nature, know this place is a paradise, especially at the peak of the Fall in Quebec city! Entry usually pay, good structure, great bathrooms. The Park offers a beautiful 30,000 ducks voantes immigration scenario. That's right. Just 1 km from wooden track you will have access to this wonder of nature. The Park also offers trails away max 3. Moderate level. The Park is located only 40 minutes from the Centre of Quebec. worth taking the whole family and spend the day!

  • Beautiful place where to hike not too far from Quebec City. Amazing view of the river where you can see cargo ships moving. Great view of the Île d'Orléans and other small islands. Different difficulty level hikes makes it one of the best place no matter what is your physical condition. Trails are very well maintained. This place gets really busy during the summer.
  • Went there for the controlled snow goose hunt. Things are well organized and set out. Saw lots of geese and had shots, and even managed to hit some. It was a great.
  • Lots of good trails for hiking for all levels. Not much other activities, but scenery is excellent! Very quiet, and relaxing. Interpretation center has lots of information, but staff is also very helpful.
