  • We drove up the Maine coast in search of beautiful ocean vistas, sunny skies and delicious seafood. We decided to stay at this hotel because it had pools, was near the ocean and most importantly allowed dogs. The resort has all the things we were looking for, in a beautiful seaside setting. The hotel was recently renovated and it looks like it. Our room was small but had high ceilings so made the size not so noticeable. The staff is young and kind though probably could use some additional training in customer service. Questions that they do not know the answer to are largely responded to with a "I have no idea" rather than a "Let me try to find that answer for you." Some answers were just plain incorrect but these are minor matters. The rooms and the hotel are lovely for the price. The food at the hotel is passable but you really come for the views.
  • Staff was courteous, buffet breakfast on point, and the pool and fitness areas were clean, bright, and well maintained. The pool has a water slide and hot tub as well as a heated in ground pool no more than 5 feet deep in the middle. The room was nice and bathroom up to date. The hotel interior shows its age. While its not crisp like a brand new modern hotel, it has a historic charm that makes up for it.
  • It was fantastic. The rooms aere amazing staff was great. The services were top notch. Only thing I wished was the indoor pool would have been a few degrees warmer. But on the flip side they have the best slide at any hotel I've been to.
  • Lovely grand old hotel. Been many years since I've been here and the refresh looks wonderful. Not a lot to do in St Andrews but the town is quaint and the people.are friendly. Nice place to spend a long weekend and play a few rounds of golf at the historic St Andrews club
  • Our first two stays at The Algonquin were over 20 years ago, and we'd forgotten about the renovation. What a surprise when we arrived. The lobby gave us the first clue and our jaws dropped. Stunning, yet retaining the old world elegance. The staff was extremely helpful, including the bellman who parked our car, noticed that I'd left my phone in the car and brought it in to me. Our room was lovely, overlooking the bay and quite modern in conveniences. It was Easter weekend with lots of families and activities for the children. That atmosphere was fun, made so by the cheerful staff. Our dinners were not quite up to our expectations but that may be the method of cooking sous vide or the very busy night in the kitchen. Not enough to keep us away....
