The historic Steveston Heritage Fishing Village was once nicknamed "Salmonopolis" for its 45 canneries and huge salmon production. Now, it's a beautiful and picturesque old town, in which one can explore shops peddling an array of goods, from handcrafted trinkets by local artists to fresh produce at the local farmer's market. If you fancy absorbing the rich history of the township, there are plenty of sights to see, including one of the remaining canneries, the shipyard, and the museum. As well all this, you can try a huge range of recreational activities, from bicycle rental to whale-watching out on the open ocean.
